In moments of inspiration it’s easy to see the raw, natural beauty of your surroundings. On my walk home from work, by the canal, sharp droplets of rain broke the surface of the water. Concentric rings rippled throughout, each one broken by another, dissipated into their shapeless beginning. I stopped for a while and watched, people walked by and the eurasian coots coasted over. They are truly lucky, I thought. To be so free. To experience the rippling, sun shining overhead, and for this thin passage of water to look like an ocean. But I was experiencing it too and got to walk home before dark, only slightly damp.
